Recently, the pilot line of green printing plate-making technology for nanomaterials of the Institute of Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was completed. On September 6, 2009, four companies from Beijing and Guangdong, including Lenovo Investment, signed the "Nanomaterials Green Printing and Platemaking Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance" letter of intent with the pilot base of the Institute of Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The scale industrialization of low-cost printing and plate-making technology is gaining momentum.
On September 6, Bai Chunli, Executive Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, accompanied by Secretary-General Li Zhigang and Deputy Secretary-General He Yan, conducted investigations on the plate coating workshop, ink cartridge workshop, and plate making workshop of the pilot line. He pointed out: "If the laser phototypesetting technology allows China's printing industry to'say goodbye to lead and fire, and usher in light and electricity', then the successful research and development of this independently innovative nanomaterial green plate-making technology may allow the printing industry to'abandon the dark and cast light'.
